To give a sort of succor and/or comfort to these Hurricane victims, we are using this medium to announce few available avenues we've been able to gather in this short period.
We shall keep updating at intervals..
Before now, from a reliable source, we learnt you could give anything you can to comfort these victims by visiting 274 Garfield Place in Park Slope, New York. They also have a drive for candles, batteries, flashlights, water, non-perishables for Red Hook shelters.
For help
We are aware of two shelters, one located at Brooklyn Tech High School (29 Fort Greene Place) and the Park Slope Armory (361 15th Street) that need volunteers. Both shelters are housing flood victims, especially the elderly, and volunteers are needed to distribute food, handle administrative tasks, and comfort residents. If you are able to assist, simply walk in to the shelter during these hours and work for as long as you can. Remember, One good turn deserves another.
Below are some pictures of people showing love, there in New York.
As at the time of this report, we were not able to gather enough information, but as time goes in you will get updates...later.

Now, you can support victims of Hurricane Sandy by doing what you do best, and what you will likely do anyway: run or walk in a fun 5K in Exeter, New Hampshire. Bright and early Sunday morning December 2nd at 10:00 a.m., dedicated and casual runners and walkers will be on their marks for the Disaster Relief 5K starting at Margaritas Restaurant.
Sponsored by the ever popular race organizers LOCO Sports, the event will donate all net proceeds from runners' entry fees to the American Red Cross, as resources for disaster relief have been strained by the widespread devastation and loss created by this Super Storm. The funds will be earmarked for those victims for disaster relief to those affected by Hurricane Sandy and other disasters. www.DisasterRelief5K.com

In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, the focus of the news may be turning to other events but people affected by the storm still need your care and support! And they will for a while. The rest of the country has moved on, it seems, but many people in the devastated areas face total loss of homes and property, clothing and other resources, and now they face a stark cold winter with little except a sense of hope and community.

More than 1 million meals and snacks have been served.
